The Jan Aushadhi Sugam app: what it does, and what it does not
3 min read · updated 26 September 2026
Jan Aushadhi Sugam is the official app of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, launched in August 2019 (PIB). It is on Google Play.
What it does
- Finds Jan Aushadhi Kendras near you, with directions.
- Searches the scheme's medicines.
- Compares the maximum retail price of a Jan Aushadhi product with branded ones, and shows the difference.
What it does not do
We found nothing official saying the app takes orders or delivers. You still buy at a Kendra. If a website or app offers to sell you "official Jan Aushadhi" medicines online, read what is and is not official.
Where this site fits
Most people arrive with a branded name on a strip. This site starts there: type the brand, see the Jan Aushadhi product with the same salts, strength and form, and the price of both per tablet, so a 10-tablet strip is never compared with a 15. Then find the nearest Kendra.
